The Facts:
Following up on the
ongoing story. ... HC Leslie Frazier continued to express optimism publicly about Ponder's chances for playing through a bruised throwing elbow that has limited him in practice all week. "It's a little bit tight for him," Frazier said Thursday. "Just got to loosen up a little bit. They're still doing some things with him. We'll see how he feels (Friday). But he's going to do everything he can to, of course, be ready for this ballgame."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Vikings have been cautious with Ponder this week, though. "I think he'll be all right," Frazier said. "He's going to do everything he can to make sure he's ready to go. He's doing a lot more stuff mentally than physical right now. But he should be fine." Still, Frazier did something unusual after the Vikings' last full practice before Saturday's wild-card playoff at Green Bay today. He had a brief chat on the field with backup QBs Joe Webb and McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who have combined to play exactly three snaps all season. In addition to Ponder, Adrian Peterson returned on a limited basis after sitting out practice on Tuesday and Wednesday to rest his sore abdomen, which he said is no concern. "He moved around very well," Frazier said. "So, that was good to see. ..." Stay tuned. The Vikings don't have to designate players' status (probable, questionable, etc.) until after Friday's walkthrough.
