previous item. ... According to Steve Reed of the Associated Press, Panthers PR spokesman Charlie Dayton says that Ron Rivera is staying as head coach and preparing for next season.

As the Redzone.org suggests, Rivera was on somewhat shaky ground with the team in the mix for a new general manage. Rivera met with owner Jerry Richardson today and apparently he will be returning for a third season. Apparently, Rivera was able to convince Richardson that he has a plan to improve the team going forward. We'll see soon enough if that plan includes any changes on his staff.
