Griffin is going to have an MRI on his right knee Monday and he said Sunday evening that “it’s up in the air” as to how serious the injury to his knee might be.

Meanwhile, Griffin faced a similar line of questioning to HC Mike Shanahan about the decision to keep him in the 24-14 loss to the Seahawks after he aggravated his knee injury in the first quarter. Griffin said he told Shanahan he was okay when asked and that he came out of the game in the fourth quarter because he was no longer able to give that answer. He was also asked what would have happened if Shanahan did take him out of the game. “I’d probably been right back out there on the field. You respect authority and I respect coach Shanahan but at the same time you have to step up and be a man sometimes.There was no way I was coming out of the game,” Griffin said. ... As PFT's Josh Alper notes, the injury might have cost Washington a game on Sunday. We’ll find out this week if there’s a greater cost to come.
