The Facts:
The New York Jets have fired offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, who was informed of his dismissal Monday night, league and team sources said Tuesday morning.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Jets were ranked 30th in total offense in Sparano's first season in the role, doomed by their unsettled quarterback position. Sparano's firing comes one day after the Jets parted ways with quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh. ... Meanwhile, the Jets also may lose DC Mike Pettine. The Bills, under newly hired coach Doug Marrone, requested permission Monday to speak with Pettine about the same position. Permission has yet to be granted. Pettine, too, has an expiring contract.
