The Facts:
Less than an hour after FOX’s Jay Glazer reported that the only thing standing in the way of the Jaguars hiring Dave Caldwell to be their next G.M. was working out a deal, the two sides have worked out a deal. Caldwell’s agent, Brian Ayrault, announced on Twitter than Caldwell and the Jaguars and owner Shahid Khan have reached an agreement in principle.

Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio reports the deal was in place before Caldwell told the Jets that he would be removing his name from consideration for the G.M. vacancy in New York. Caldwell had interviewed with the Jaguars three times before scheduling a second interview with the Jets. ... The next question is whether Caldwell, formerly the Falcons director of player personnel, will keep HC Mike Mularkey. The two did work together in Atlanta, but Caldwell also has connections to 49ers OC Greg Roman and nothing is certain at this point. Stay tuned.
