Lions Open To Titus Young Returning; But Can He Play Second Fiddle?
(1/9 12:3 PT)

The Facts:
Both HC Jim Schwartz and general manager Martin Mayhew wouldn't close the door on the exiled Young returning to the team. Reported by MLive.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Lions sent Young home from the practice facility for a third and final time in early December and eventually placed the volatile wideout on injured reserve. Teammate Nate Burleson, who has often said he views Young like a little brother, isn't sure fences can be mended between player and organization. Burleson hopes the time away has been good for Young. "When you have time for self-reflection, it puts things in perspective," Burleson said before adding he believes Young needs to accept that he's not the top receiver on the Lions. "He is extremely competitive, which is good," Burleson said. "He comes in and he wants to be the man, he wants to shine. He feels like he can help the team any given play. He's an I'm-always-open guy and I like that about his personality. It's just when you're playing with (Calvin Johnson), you have to adjust. You never heard (Scottie) Pippen saying, 'Let me lead the team in scoring.' It's (Michael) Jordan's show. ..." According to reports, Young's issues with the Lions escalated when the receiver intentionally lined up in the incorrect spot against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 18. The issues are nothing new, either. Coming out of Boise State, the red flags were there. So believing he'll change seems like a reach.
