(1/9 12:35 PT)

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Previous reporting -- by ESPN's Adam Schefter, suggested Griffin would have his LCL repaired and the ACL inspected for further damage. Apparently Mortensen has learned otherwise. Per the ESPN reporting, Griffin's recovery is projected at 6-to-8 months with rehabilitation that will focus on his quad strength to protect and help stabilize knee. We're all aware of what of what Vikings running back Adrian Peterson did with a similar timetable. And according to Mortensen, the Redskins are hoping Griffin can pull off a repeat of Peterson's remarkable recovery. Appearing on SportsCenter, Mortensen told viewers, "[Griffin] should be ready for the 2013 season opener according to the sources that I spoke with. ..." Stay tuned. Obviously more to come.
