The Facts:
Jay Gruden said that he pleased with how his interview with Arizona went for their head coaching opening. The Bengals offensive coordinator met with Cardinals reporters after Thursday’s interview. “They just want to hear your philosophy about things, and you give it to them. They want to see your personality, what kind of passion you have, and all those good things,” Gruden said.

Gruden also said that his agent, Bob LaMonte, has been in contact with a couple other teams and that there is a possibility he will interview with the Eagles next week. When asked what makes him think he is ready to be a head coach now, Gruden said he has handled people, organizations, salary caps and all the things necessary to be a head coach, even if it has been in the Arena and United football leagues. He also added that he turned down interviews last year because of the opportunity to be an offensive coordinator in the NFL and “I didn’t want to jump ship after the first phone call.” Added Gruden: “I wanted to go in there and see Andy Dalton and A.J. Green progress another year and see what we could do. It’s a great situation up in Cincinnati. I still feel like we underachieved a little bit on offense. We have to do a lot better up there. But, to even be thought of as a head coach candidate is a great honor, and I appreciate the Bidwills taking a chance. ..." Or at least giving a listen. We'll see if the Eagles do the same.
