Jonathan Stewart Has Ankled Scoped
(1/12 10:21 PT)

The Facts:
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Stewart said he underwent arthroscopic surgery Friday on his left ankle. Reported by FootballDiehards.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Stewart, who missed seven games this year with the ankle injuries, is expected to be fine for 2013, but he could miss some preseason work but we'll need to see how the next offensive coordinator plans to run things before anybody gets too excited about Stewart's Fantasy prospects again. As the Sports Xchange notes, DeAngelo Williams, Stewart and Mike Tolbert maded up arguably one of the deepest backfields in the league, but former coordinator Rob Chudzinski struggled to put together a consistent run game. The Panthers weren't helped by having to use eight different offensive line combinations, but that still wasn't much of an excuse to not take full advantage of those three backs. After the Panthers rushed for 273 in the season finale in New Orleans - which included a franchise single-game record 210-yard effort from Williams - Tolbert quipped, "We have talented running backs in that room, and when you give us the ball, sometimes good things happen." If healthy, Stewart will be one of those talented backs. But injuries continue to keep him from maximizing his potential.
