ongoing story. ... Prior to boarding the team flight to Atlanta Friday, Crabtree and his lawyer, Joshua M. Bentley, met with San Francisco Police Department detectives as part of a sexual assault investigation. Bentley released the following statement Saturday morning, indicating that his client will cooperate fully:“On Friday, January 18, 2013, Michael Crabtree voluntarily met with the San Francisco Police Department and provided a statement. Michael fully cooperated with the inspectors and will continue to do so throughout the investigation. We have confidence in the process. Out of respect and integrity for the process, we have no further comment at this time.”

The alleged assault occurred in a San Francisco hotel Sunday in the early morning, hours after the 49ers' 45-31 victory over the Green Bay Packers in an NFC divisional playoff game. The incident is being investigated by the Special Victims Unit, and will be presented to the District Attorney's Office when it is completed. Crabtree has not been detained or arrested, and he is expected to play against the Falcons today as usual.
