Raiders Add Sparano As Assistant HC, OL Coach
(1/24 5:51 PT)

The Facts:
The Raiders hired Tony Sparano as assistant head coach/offensive line coach Wednesday. Reported by the San Francisco Chronicle

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Sparano was fired by the Jets after one season as offensive coordinator, and this is the second step back for the former Dolphins head coach. New York's offense was ranked 30th last season. The Jets hired him to figure out a way to install some wildcat elements after the acquisition of Tim Tebow, but Sparano used him sparingly. According to Chronicle staffer Vic Tafur, Sparano, 51, will be a good, experienced influence on second-year head coach Dennis Allen. Sparano was 29-32 as head coach at Miami from 2008 through '11. Before he was hired in Miami, Sparano was the offensive line coach and running game coordinator for the Cowboys from 2005 through '07. He has experience with the power-running scheme, to which the Raiders are returning after the firing of offensive coordinator Greg Knapp and the hiring of Greg Olson.
