Donald Driver Likely To Retire Soon
(1/25 12:16 PT)

The Facts:
Driver once said he'd like to play until the age of 40, but it seems the Green Bay Packers' wide receiver won't make it. Following a disappointing season in which he caught eight passes and was inactive for one of the team's two playoff games, Driver is leaning toward retirement, according to a person informed of Driver's thinking on the matter. The person said an announcement could come as soon as next week. Reported by USA Today

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Profootballtalk.com's Josh Alper notes, Driver played sparingly in the second half of the season, seeing action in five games and catching just two passes. He was also inactive for the team’s first playoff game, sending a pretty strong message that Driver was near the end of the line in Green Bay. If Driver is retiring, he’ll leave with 743 career catches (tied for 37th all-time), 10,137 yards (38th all-time) and 61 receiving touchdowns. He has the most receptions and receiving yards in the history of the Packers and helped them win Super Bowl XLV.
