With the start of the new league year looming on Friday, the Broncos waived three of their key contributors from 2005, parting ways with running back Mike Anderson, tight end Jeb Putzier and defensive end Trevor Pryce.

There had been little or no talk about adjusting Anderson's contract -- he was slated to earn $2.565 million this year -- leading some to wonder if he was really part of the team's 2006 plan. Putzier and Stephen Alexander, meanwhile, shared the tight end position, but Alexander ended up starting more games.
