GM Says Kenny Britt Is On The Spot To Produce This Year
(2/7 12:9 PT)

The Facts:
GM Ruston Webster expects more from Britt in 2013 – on the field and off. As Britt enters the final year of his contract, Webster made it clear that he and the entire Titans organization are on the spot to produce much more than they did this season in a 6-10 campaign. “We expect all our guys to take care of themselves off the field and do the right things in those situations, plus on the field get themselves ready to play,” Webster said. “Kenny had a tough year just bouncing back from injuries but I think he is on the spot to produce this year." Reported by TitansInsider.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As TitanInsider.com's Terry McCormick notes, Britt, the team’s first-round pick in 2009, has shown flashes of big-play ability during his time with the Titans, but that has been overshadowed by injuries and off-the-field run-ins. Britt, though he caught a career-high 45 passes, had only 589 yards receiving and caught four touchdown passes in 2012. It was his first year back from a torn ACL in his right knee in 2011, and he also had additional procedures on both knees last off-season. Britt has also had nine run-ins with the law and was questioned by police in January after he took a stabbed friend to the hospital (an arrest was made in that case on Wednesday). Britt apparently had no further involvement than that, but did delay talking to police for approximately 48 hours after the incident took place. According to Ruston, "We do expect our guys to handle ourselves quite well off the field and stay out of those situations. ...” Bottom line? The entire team is likely on notice, but Britt might well be on "double-secret probation."
