Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As PFT's Michael David Smith notes, Dallas fired several assistant coaches after the season and hired several new ones, and Jones also said that it was Garrett who made the decisions on the Cowboys’ coaching staff shakeup. “He did the evaluations,” Jones said. “He basically said, ‘Jerry here’s who I want to get. ...'” Jones said it was “pretty expensive” to buy out the contracts of the fired assistants and then hire new assistants, but he believes it was worth it. And he believes he won’t have to buy out a contract of a head coach in a year.
