Randy Moss' Future With Niners Up In The Air
(2/21 12:42 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... HC Jim Harbaugh said last month that, if it were up to him, Moss would "definitely" return for one more season with the 49ers. His general manager isn't so sure. Trent Baalke told reporters Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine that no decision has been made about retaining the 36-year-old wide receiver.  Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
"Randy's a pro, and I can't say enough good things about Randy," Baalke said. "We're certainly happy that he was there. Is he going to return this year? I don't know that yet." Moss rapidly won over teammates and coaches last season, but his production was modest. ... As San Francisco Chronicle staffer Eric Branch recently suggested, without his speed and leaping ability, Moss is a decent part-time wide receiver who doesn’t relish running routes over the middle. His diminished skills are reflected on the stat sheet: 28 catches in each of his past two seasons. Off the field, he was a model teammate. Still, if he thinks there might be a more significant role available elsewhere, Branch believes Moss will be ready to join his fifth team since 2010.
