The Facts:
A few hours after NFL owners voted to continue their standoff with the players union, the league extended its deadline for free agency by three days, putting off what threatened to become a mass purge of high-priced players from rosters. League vice president Joe Browne announced the delay Thursday afternoon, seven hours before the midnight deadline.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
ESPN insider Chris Mortensen is reporting the two sides will also resume negotiations in attempt to agree on the new CBA. In the meantime, the deadline for teams to get under the cap is also pushed out to Sunday afternoon. ... Nothing is done, but this development is certainly a more positive sign than that we received this morning, when owners voted to reject the union's proposal.
