Delay Could Work In Chad Pennington's Favor
(3/3 10:47 PT)

The Facts:
The Pennington saga went into overtime last night, when the decision to delay the start of free agency gave the Jets three more days to work out a compromise on his contract. With five hours left before the previous deadline last night, the two sides were closing in on a deal to restructure Pennington's contract and lower his cap number, allowing him to continue his career with the team, two people with knowledge of the talks said. Reported by New York Newsday

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Now, with three more days to work out the details and renewed talks between the league and players on extending the collective-bargaining agreement, those close to the situation seem to believe a compromise on Pennington's contract seems even more likely.
