The Jets want to keep Chad Pennington, but according to numerous people with the knowledge of the team's thinking, they are still pursuing other quarterbacks to serve as a competitor -- or a replacement -- for Pennington.

Those options include: Pursuing Bengals quarterback Jon Kitna, who will be a free agent once the signing period begins Monday at 12:01 a.m; drafting Vanderbilt's Jay Cutler with the fourth pick overall in the April 29 draft; dealing for Redskins quarterback Patrick Ramsey, whom the Jets feel they can get for a mid- to late-round draft pick. ... At this point, however, Kitna seems to interest them the most.
