Bears Among Those With An Eye On Jared Cook
(3/6 12:13 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... Heading into the NFL Combine, the expectation was that the Titans would place the franchise tag on Cook. But when the deadline passed Monday afternoon, Cook wasn’t tagged, and he’ll likely draw a lot of interest – including from the Bears, according to a league source.  Reported by the Chicago Sun-Times

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
A handful of clubs have a need for a pass-catching tight end, and Cook is arguably the most desirable, given his combination of size (6-5, 246 pounds), speed (4.49 in the 40-yard dash), age (25) and production. In 29 games over the last two seasons, Cook has 93 catches for 1,282 yards and seven touchdowns. Kellen Davis has as many touchdowns during that same span, but he’s been hampered with drops and produced far fewer yards and catches. New Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer arrives after being a key part of an offense that highlighted a pass-catching tight end. Jimmy Graham was a Pro Bowl selection after catching 99 passes for 1,310 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2011. Graham is two inches taller than Cook, but he was timed with a slower 40 (4.53). Worth noting: ESPNCleveland.com suggests that Cook could be a superstar for the Browns with new HC Rob Chudzinski and OC Norv Turner calling the shots. ... Stay tuned. Sounds like Cook will be a hot commodity.
