David Carr Drawing Some Interest On FA Market
(3/10 1:2 PT)

The Facts:
Carr, Eli Manning's back-up for four of the past five seasons, planned to see what other opportunities are out there as a free agent. So far, in the hours since the negotiating period began at midnight earlier today, two teams in addition to the Giants have expressed interest in Carr, according to a person with knowledge of the attention Carr has received. Reported by the Newark Star-Ledger

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Carr, 33, is interested in exploring other opportunities that may give him the potential to compete for a starting role. He's worked with several coaches around the NFL during his 11-year career, and in a thin free-agent quarterback class, the former No. 1 overall pick could find work on a team without a clear-cut answer at quarterback. The other teams that have expressed interest are not known at this time. According to Star-Ledger staffer Jenny Vrentas, Tampa Bay could be in the mix, with former Giants QBs coach Mike Sullivan in his second year as the Buccaneers' offensive coordinator. Carr has been a capable back-up for Manning and a versatile scout-team quarterback, though it's possible the Giants could explore getting younger at the position.
