The Facts:
The Jaguars aren't ready to give up on Brady just yet. Despite reducing his role in the passing game substantially the past three seasons, the veteran tight end said the Jaguars decided to keep him by paying a $400,000 roster bonus that was due Friday. The Jaguars could have declined the bonus and cut Brady, saving them the $2.1 million salary he is scheduled to make this fall in the final year of his contract.

Brady, who turned 34 in January, appeared in all 16 games last year for the fifth time in his seven seasons with the Jaguars. But he caught just 18 passes for 157 yards and one touchdown, his lowest output for a full season since 1996.
