Jonathan Dwyer Signs Steelers Tender Offer
(3/12 12:6 PT)

The Facts:
Dwyer was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on Tuesday. Dwyer instead didn’t feel the need to test the waters and elected to sign his tender Monday according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com.  Reported by Profootballtalk.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Steelers placed an original round tender on Dwyer (a sixth round pick in 2010) worth $1.323 million that would have allowed him to test the market with the Steelers getting the right to match any offer sheet. Dwyer apparently didn’t want to wait and instead wanted to prove a point by remaining in Pittsburgh. As PFT's Curtis Crabtree notes, with Rashard Mendenhall’s future with the team in doubt, Dwyer could see a consistent role with the Steelers next season. Dwyer appeared in 13 games and made six starts along with Mendenhall and Isaac Redman in the Steelers backfield. He carried the ball 156 times for 623 yards and two touchdowns in 2012.
