The Facts:
Not content to rest after a day on which they completed a trade for a starting quarterback, signed his backup as a free agent and also acquired two other veterans, the Chiefs agreed to terms with Avery today.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Star beat man Adam Teicher notes, Avery is a faster receiver who would be a good mix with Dwayne Bowe on the other side. Speed has been an element missing from the Chiefs’ receiving group. Avery caught 60 passes for the Colts last season. To review, the Chiefs took care of the top two quarterback spots on the depth chart by trading with San Francisco for Alex Smith and signing Chase Daniel, who played in college at Missouri. They also signed Miami’s Anthony Fasano, who will join Tony Moeaki at tight end.
