Reggie Bush Calls Stafford, Megatron A Running Back's Dream
(3/14 12:11 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... Bush grinned throughout his introductory press conference Wednesday after signing a four-year contract with the Lions. He repeatedly talked about the offensive possibilities of playing with QB Matthew Stafford and WR Calvin Johnson. "It's a running back's dream," Bush said about facing six- and seven-man fronts. "That's the first thing we talked about. When we were watching film and you see those safeties deep and safeties rolling over, double-coveraging Calvin Johnson. It's a running back's dream." Reported by NFL.com

Bush added: "We have to be able to run the ball in that situation. That's one of the reasons why I wanted to come here, to be able to bring a balanced attack and help take some of the pressure off Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford and just complement them. ..." As NFL.com's Kareem Copeland notes, the Lions have had one of the top aerial attacks the last the last two seasons with Stafford averaging 5,000 yards passing and Megatron setting records, but the run game has been nonexistent. Not only should Bush find running lanes, but the Lions have wanted a quick, shifty back to work underneath routes and the screen game. Bush averaged more than 1,000 rushing yards and nearly 40 receptions the last two seasons. According to Copeland, Bush will be the primary back with Mikel Leshoure providing the power option.
