The Facts:
Washington says the Bucs inquired about trading for him before he was released by the Seahawks on Tuesday. And the interest hasn’t dwindled since one of the league’s premier return men was let go. The Bucs have already been in contact with his representative, though no deal is imminent with the running back/kick returner.

The fit is obvious. The Bucs had no consistent return man in 2012 and Washington has been one of the NFL’s best for years. He averaged 29.0 yards on kick returns last season, second in the NFL behind the Ravens’ Jacoby Jones. Washington has eight kick-return touchdowns in his eight-year career. ... And Washington might have some usefulness as a third-down running back with his capable hands and elusiveness. Remember; the Patriots also appear to have an interest in Washington. ... Stay tuned.
