Since Amendola has been penciled in as "Wes Welker Part 2" so we might as well get his opinion on replacing the original."As far as comparisons to Wes, I've been hearing it for a long time," Amendola said Friday, ESPN Boston reported. "I watched him play the whole time -- he's a great player, he's had a number of Pro Bowls and done a lot of good things to help the Patriots win. Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Amendola posted career-highs of 85 receptions, 689 yards and three touchdowns with the St. Louis Rams in 2010. Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels held the same position with the Rams in 2011, but Amendola only played one game due to injury. As NFL.com's Kareem Copeland pointed out, Amendola may have some Welker-like abilities, but can also split out wide. Still, the newcomer has a long way to go to match Welker's five 100-catch, 1,000-yard seasons.
