Brees, could be the next Vikings quarterback. One reason it might happen is that Fran Foley, the new vice president of player personnel for the Vikings, had a great relationship with Brees when both were with the Chargers.

Although this story clearly falls within the realm of speculation, there is some logic to it. Whether they retain Daunte Culpepper or not -- and the writer of this piece, Star-Tribune staffer Sid Hartman, doesn't believe they will, the Vikings would obviously interested in reviewing all their options at the position. And if Culpepper doesn't return, likely starter Brad Johnson is 37 and Brees would provide an appealing combination of youth, talent and recent productivity.
