The Facts:
A potential deal between the Cardinals and Cribbs is on hold because Cribbs hasn't fully recovered from off-season surgery on the meniscus cartilage in one of his knees, Cribbs' agent J.R. Rickert told USA TODAY Sports Tuesday.

Rickert was responding to a report from ESPNCleveland.com that stated Cribbs failed his physical with the Cardinals on Monday. Rickert didn't agree with the characterization of a "failed" physical because he expects the Cardinals to give Cribbs another physical in a few weeks. Rickert said the meniscus hasn't fully healed yet following arthroscopic surgery but believes that will be the case before the next physical with the Cards. If so, Rickert believes a signing would then occur. It's unclear if the Cardinals agree with Rickert's assessment of the situation and whether they'll now look for another free-agent returner to add. ... Stay tuned.
