Reggie Bush Could Handle Return Work For Lions
(3/20 3:3 PT)

The Facts:
The Lions targeted Bush to be a dynamic addition to their offense, but HC Jim Schwartz said today Bush also could fill a major hole on special teams. “Yeah,” Schwartz said when asked about the possibility of using Bush as a punt or kick returner. “I’m not a man of few words, but yes (that’s possible).”  Reported by the Detroit Free Press

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Bush has never been a primary kick returner in the NFL, and he hasn’t returned punts with any regularity since his days with the New Orleans Saints. But he scored three touchdowns on 20 punt returns in 2008 and has averaged 7.9 yards per return for his career. Last year, the Lions ranked 22nd in the NFL in punt return average (8.6 ypr) and tied for the league lead with six muffed punts. Return specialist Stefan Logan was benched after downing a free kick at his own 4-yard line in a late-season loss to the Atlanta Falcons and is not expected back. ... Mike Thomas returned punts, and Joique Bell returned kicks in the Lions' season finale last year. Receivers Ryan Broyles, Nate Burleson and Terrence Austin also have return experience.
