Reid Not Feeling Jon Baldwin Just Yet
(3/21 12:0 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... Dexter McCluster is a player who excites HC Andy Reid. He said McCluster can line up all over the field. It will be interesting to see if McCluster can flourish in Reid’s offense. Reid was less expansive on his answers when the subject of 2011 first-round pick, Baldwin, came up. “Baldwin is kind of a tweener,” Reid said. “He does have good, long speed, not great long speed. He’s somebody that needs to continue to develop. That’s a position that you need time to develop in. We’ll see how he does.”  Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As ESPN.com's Bill Williamson noted, Baldwin has talent, but reading Reid’s comments it doesn't sound like he's counting on Baldwin. And why should he. Baldwin followed up a hugely disappointing rookie season with an only slightly less disappointing 20-catch effort last year. Fantasy owners looking for a third-year breakout shouldn't get their hopes up. As previously noted, newly-signed Donnie Avery is expected to be the starter opposite Dwayne Bowe this season.
