Goodson spent last season with the Raiders after three seasons with the Panthers. He has never rushed for more than 500 yards in a season and has been a backup his entire career. With the Jets, he could come to the forefront. Goodson, 25, ran for 221 yards on 35 carries last season and had a receiving touchdown. He believes the Jets new offense under Marty Mornhinweg will be a great fit for him. “I definitely think it highlights the things that I do well in my game,” Goodson said, “catching the ball out of the backfield, being able to isolate the linebackers, run some routes and also running the ball between the tackles. I think it’s going to be good.” Powell still looks like the early favorite to secure the starting job, but the competition bears watching.
