(3/30 3:55 PT)

The Facts:
Four months after he sustained a torn Achilles, Hunter has resumed running and will be back for the start of training camp, a source close to the 49ers running back said today. Reported by the San Francisco Chronicle

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Hunter, 24, who has split his time between Santa Clara and Texas this offseason, was injured in the 49ers’ win at New Orleans on Nov. 25. He rushed for 371 yards and averaged 5.2 yards a carry in his second NFL season. As Chronicle staffer Eric Branch notes, Hunter and LaMichael James are expected to battle for carries behind Frank Gore in 2013. A second-round pick in 2012, James made his NFL debut two weeks after Hunter was sidelined and was impressive in the latter stages of the season. In seven games, including the playoffs, James rushed for 190 yards, averaged 5.0 yards a carry and had a 15-yard touchdown against the Falcons in the NFC Championship Game.
