Buccaneers Release QB Orlovsky, RB Ware
(4/4 11:58 PT)

The Facts:
The Buccaneers released quarterback Dan Orlovsky and running back Danny Ware, both of whom become free agents immediately since they are already vested veterans. The two moves save the Bucs about $2.35 million under the salary cap for 2013. Reported by Profootballtalk.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Orlovsky played in one game as Josh Freeman’s backup during the 2012 season, completing 4-of-7 passes for 51 yards. It was Orlovsky’s first year as a backup in Tampa and his departure leaves Adam Weber and Freeman as the only quarterbacks on the roster. One would expect Tampa to focus on adding a quarterback at some point in the draft since Freeman’s contract only runs through next season and the Bucs haven’t yet seemed set on extending the relationship beyond 2013. ... Ware served as the team’s third running back in 2012, carrying the ball 11 times over the course of the season. With Brian Leonard joining the team and 2012 rookie Michael Smith still on the roster, it’s not hard to see why the team decided to move on from Ware.
