ongoing story. ... Tebow still is a member of the New York Jets. Until he is told otherwise, the quarterback will continue to operate as if he remains in the team's plans. (Even if he's not.) Brian Costello of the New York Post reported Monday that Tebow will report to Jets' voluntary workouts next week if he still is on the roster.

It's widely believed the Jets will release Tebow if they're unable to find a trade suitor. The team failed to find a role for the quarterback in 2012, and his absence from the offense became an unwelcome distraction during a 6-10 campaign. Tebow knows he has no future with the Jets, making it understandable (even logical) if he decided to stay clear of workouts until his situation had more clarity. Apparently, he feels it better serves him to remain on the radar. Meanwhile, as NFL.com's Dan Hanzus points out, the Jets would take on a level of risk if Tebow does attend the workouts. A season-ending injury would put New York on the hook for Tebow's entire base-salary for 2013. ... Stay tuned. That could force a move soon.
