Chargers Add WRs Deon Butler, DePalma
(4/8 11:43 PT)

The Facts:
The Chargers signed Butler to a one-year contract on Monday. WR Dan DePalma inked a two-year deal. They'll compete for Week 1 roster spots, a process that begins Tuesday when they're expected to join the team's ongoing voluntary workout program. Reported by the San Diego Union-Tribune

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Butler ran one route in seven snaps, and that is the extent of last year's regular-season experience from the two. Both were cut Aug. 31 after the preseason and took different roads back to the NFL. From his Seahawks release, Butler trained until he rejoined them in December. Seattle is the only club the 5-10, 182-pound veteran has previously known, as it drafted him in the 2009 third round out of Penn State. Butler, 27, has 57 career receptions for 611 yards and four touchdowns. He started eight of 13 games in 2010 when setting career highs with 36 catches for 385 yards and the four scores. ... From his Giants release, DePalma went unsigned before spending the final six weeks of the season on their practice squad. Yet to appear in an NFL game, DePalma, 23, has one year remaining in practice squad eligibility. At 5-11 and 192 pounds, he is considered capable of returning kickoffs and punts.
