Russell won't hold a pro day after all. Test Football Academy, which has been running Russell's attempt at an NFL comeback, said Monday that Russell instead plans to meet teams individually. "More than a few teams" reportedly have kept an eye on Russell, but perhaps there was a concern from Russell's camp that no one would show up for a pro day.

It's unclear which teams, if any, have agreed to host the former No. 1 overall pick of the Oakland Raiders for a workout. Russell started working with former 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia on Feb. 7 and there were reports last week that Russell was down from 308 pounds to 288. As NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal notes, the lighter weight is a good sign but it will be much harder to shed his image as a lackadaisical worker with significant substance abuse problems -- in addition to accuracy problems as a passer. ...
