Peyton Manning Stronger; Looking To Create Some Positive Tension
(4/16 12:4 PT)

The Facts:
Manning arrived for his first day of the team's offseason workouts Monday with his comeback 2012 season in the rearview mirror and looking for more in 2013. Manning said recent workouts at Duke University with Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker and one of the team's newest additions in Wes Welker went well and that he felt some additional arm strength in five workouts. "I've made some improvements since last year, but still have a plan with the trainers, a plan with the strength coaches," Manning said. "I'm still in a get stronger, rehab mode. I'll be that way for a petty good while." Reported by the Denver Post

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Broncos gathered for the first day of their conditioning program Monday, their first team function since they packed up their gear in the locker room the day after their double-overtime loss to the Ravens in the AFC divisional round game. The loss ruined a 13-3 season that saw the Broncos win 11 consecutive games to close out the regular season and earn homefield advantage in the postseason. But there's reason for optimism after Manning earned the league's comeback player of the year award last season after missing 2011 with multiple neck surgeries. In addition to his improving healthy, Manning made it clear the Broncos aren't going to settle for anything less than a championship. "John Elway wants to sort of set a kind of attitude, kind of an edge around here," Manning said. "Kind an uncomfortable atmosphere, which I believe in. Last year was good, but it wasn't great and we're looking for that great season. ..." It's safe to say few NFL players can create the kind of discomfort among teammates that Manning can. And we mean that in the best way possible.
