Burleson suffered a tibial plateau fracture in his right leg in an October loss to the Chicago Bears last year. He had five screws and a plate inserted under his knee, and doctors compared the injury to one they see in serious car accidents. In New York to help with NFL Network’s coverage of this week’s draft, Burleson said he hopes the Lions pick a receiver this week. Ryan Broyles, a second-round pick last year, also is coming off a season-ending injury — he tore his ACL in December — and the Lions have been searching for a complement to Calvin Johnson in the passing game for some time.
