The Facts:
Following up on the
ongoing story. ... Be patient. That was Giants co-owner John Mara's message about Cruz's unresolved contract situation. "It will get done at some point," Mara said Monday night. "Just be patient."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Cruz, a restricted free agent, did not receive any offer sheets from other teams before the open signing period ended Friday night, but he has also not signed the first-round tender the Giants assigned him last month. Cruz has so far opted not to report to the Giants' voluntary offseason program, which began last week, and quarterback Eli Manning -- who shares an agent with Cruz -- said he does not expect to see Cruz until a long-term deal is worked out. Indeed, Mara's comments indicate it's only a matter of time before the sides reach common ground. They are believed to have been far apart in the compensation Cruz should receive each year, though Mara was optimistic when Cruz switched agents to CAA's Tom Condon. As a restricted free agent, Cruz's options in 2013 are limited. A long-term deal would be preferred, and favorable, for both sides.
