Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio put it, "Now that the Packers have invested in a running back, let’s see if they use him." Florio went on to remind readers that in the past, the Pack have blustered about developing a running game, "and yet they have continued to pass to set up the pass." That said, if Lacy avoids injuries and emerges as a true, every-down back, there's something to be said for a back with his talent in as prolific an offense as Green Bay's. After all, what is the Packer offense -- a unit capable of putting up big points -- missing? A closer. Lacy can be that. ... According to his NFL.com scouting report, Lacy has the build and the talent to be a starting running back in the NFL. He plays with light feet, and great balance, yet he still runs with a lot of power. While he's not a tremendously fast guy, he has more than enough tools to compensate. As NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock summed up: "This guy's a three-down tailback. He'll protect the quarterback. He can carry 20 to 25 times a game. For the Packers, who have been running the ball by committee, this is a perfect pick." Might turn out to be the same for Fantasy owners.
