The Facts:
According to CSNNE.com's Tom Curran, the Bucs traded Blount traded to Patriots for RB Jeff Demps and a 7th-round pick.

There has been considerable buzz suggesting Blount would indeed be traded at some point. Also remember, Demps declared this offseason he wants to run track and fit some football in on the side. According to Tampa Tribune staffer Roy Cummings, the Bucs will tell you that Blount simply didn't fit as a backup RB. Demps also gives Bucs a return specialist. As for New England, the Patriots already seem to be solid at the top of their depth chart with Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen and Lion Washington and Brandon Bolden. So it's not clear how Blount, not really known for his short-yardage and goal-line skills despite his size, will fit in. So stay tuned. We'll be following up as needed.
