The Facts:
Nothing surprising here, but GM Reggie McKenzie said that recently-acquired Flynn is the starting quarterback when organized workouts start next week. “We’re going to begin with Matt Flynn,” McKenzie said. “Now, the quarterbacks who will be on the roster from that point on, they will all compete. Like I said, every position, it’s all about getting players that can play and competing.”

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Those other quarterbacks for now include just Terrelle Pryor, who started the last game of the season in 2012 when Carson Palmer was hurt. Palmer didn’t want to take a pay cut on a losing team, and was traded to Arizona, and the Raiders then traded for Flynn from Seattle and drafted Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson in the fourth round of last weekend's draft. So can Wilson become the next Wilson to beat out Flynn this summer (Russell Wilson did it last year)? McKenzie is eager to find out. “I think he’s going to be a solid quarterback," the GM said of Flynn. "Now how good can he be? We’ll figure that out, but I think he’s got a chance to be a good, solid quarterback. He hasn’t played a lot of games so that’s what’s ahead of him, to see how he plays. He’ll get in here and compete and try to see if he can show his team and coaches if he can play.” As the Chronicle suggested, at least McKenzie is definitely not setting the bar too high for Flynn.
