The Facts:
The Titans added a rookie receiver early in the draft when they selected Justin Hunter and now they’ve released a veteran wideout a few days later. Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the Titans have informed Hawkins that they will release him.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Hawkins spent five years with the team drafted him in the fourth round of the 2008 draft. He had 47 catches during the 2011 season, but only 24 across his other four years in Tennessee and caught just five passes in seven games last season. As PFT's Josh Alper suggests, with Hunter and Kendall Wright joining the team in the last two years and Hawkins scheduled to make $1.7 million in 2013, it’s not a great shock to see the Titans chose to move in a different direction.
