Jones, an unrestricted free agent, visited the Eagles on Tuesday and worked out for the Bengals in April. As PFT's Mike Wilkening notes, the Patriots have the makings of solid depth at RB with Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen, Brandon Bolden, LeGarrette Blount and Leon Washington among their options at the position. However, Jones has good speed and has shown some pass-catching ability on the pro level; he hauled in a career-best 48 receptions in 2010 for Dallas, with whom he has played his entire career. That said, there's a reason the Cowboys are no longer interested. The fact that nobody has moved to sign Jones suggests that Dallas isn't alone in their less-than-positive view.
