Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The 5-foot-11, 194-pounder was a fourth-round pick out of California in 2008 and spent the first five seasons of his career with the Titans, who released him last week. Hawkins had career highs with 47 catches for 470 yards and one touchdown in 2011, but he only totaled 24 receptions for 301 yards and no scores in his other four seasons. Hawkins, who adds depth while Julian Edelman recovers from foot surgery, will compete for a roster spot along with the rest of the wideouts. According to the Herald, Danny Amendola and second-round pick Aaron Dobson should be considered the only locks to make the team.
