Gabbert, Henne Continue To Split Snaps
(5/16 12:9 PT)

The Facts:
The competition for the quarterback job between Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne continues to be the focus of the camp. “It’s going good,’’ HC Gus Bradley said. “We’re rotating by period. There’s a lot of competition and they’re battling it. Everything we do we’re trying to create some sort of competition for our team. Hopefully as OTA’s [organized team activities] go on, we get more and more of those situations to evaluate them." Reported by the Florida Times-Union

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
But Bradley also said it is hard to evaluate when the players aren’t in full pads the way they will be in training camp. "I think once we get pads on and see how they react in different situations, it will become more clear.’’ Gabbert said of the competition, “It’s great. We’re having fun. We’re out there making every rep count and that’s what we’re doing. ...’’ Meanwhile, as Profootballtalk.com pointed out, the Jags can’t even muster a decent competition for the third job, as undrafted rookie Jordan Rodgers is out following sports hernia surgery, leaving fellow undrafted rookie Matt Scott to get all the extra snaps before training camp. ... Interest in the Jaguars' receiving corps notwithstanding, the winner of this competition won't be of much interest come draft day. But we'll continue follow up as developments warrant.
