Following up on a
previous item. ... Marshall deemed himself 100 percent healthy earlier this offseason, but the Bears doctors weren’t convinced that he could handle a full workload until Tuesday. They wanted to wait and make sure that Marshall had fully healed from the arthroscopic surgery on his hip earlier this offseason before giving Marshall the green light. The wideout announced via Twitter that the medical staff had made that determination, which frees Marshall to join his teammates on the field for the rest of offseason activities and training camp but not until he’s listened to some tunes by Uncle Reece to get himself back into the right frame of mind.

As PFT's Josh notes, the scope was done just after the end of the season, which means Marshall has had almost three months to work his way back into the necessary condition for doctors to sign off on his return. Marshall has dealt with hip issues for several years and has had other surgeries in hopes of solving the problem, but the issue has continued to linger. It didn’t do much to limit Marshall’s production in 2012, however, and as Alper suggested, there’s no reason to believe 2013 will be any different.
