The Facts:
Following up on the
ongoing story. ... On Tuesday, HC Rob Chudzinski responded to
a report that Richardson would miss at least the start of training camp as a result of an injury to his shin by saying that he expected Richardson to be ready for the first day of camp. Richardson offered his own response on Wednesday and it sounded pretty similar to the one offered by the head coach. He echoed Chudzinski’s thoughts about the current time off being “precautionary” rather than because Richardson is physically unable to do football activities and said that no one from the Browns has told him that he’ll be on the sidelines for the start of training camp. “I have not been told that. I know I will not be out that long,” Richardson said, via Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Richardson also said that he’s been losing weight by plan and that his migraine medicine has nothing to do with any weight loss, refuting other parts of the original report about the running back’s condition. As PFT's Josh Alper suggests, in the end it won't really matter if Richardson’s first day of practice comes in late July or early August as long as he’s in the lineup for the start of the preseason. If Richardson is still out at that point, there will be reason to worry about his fitness for the start of the regular season and he’ll have a harder time arguing that injuries aren’t a chronic problem for him.
