The Facts:
Rex Ryan has a laundry list of injured wide receivers on his hands. Jeremy Kerley (heel), Stephen Hill (knee), Clyde Gates (hamstring) and Holmes (foot) were all sidelined or not even present during today's OTA session. Hill and Gates are expected back next week. Kerley's injury appears to be precautionary. But the prognosis on Holmes is a little murkier. "He's doing a decent job, but we'll see how he's doing for training camp," Ryan said. "There's a possibility he maybe starts out on PUP, I'm not sure. But he seems to be doing well."

As Star-Ledger staffer Conor Orr noted, Holmes wasn't exactly positive about the outlook for his recovery during his last extended meeting with reporters in December. Recovering from the Lisfranc issue may be taking longer than expected, though, leaving the onus on Holmes and either Mark Sanchez or Geno Smith to make up for lost time whenever possible. Either way, the Jets' passing attack will not be of great interest to fantasy owners until it begins to show signs of improvement. That could take a while.
